Josie Hinton - Faith and Migrant Mental Health Access Workers role is:
- To develop working partnerships with faith leaders and community elders in places of worship in order to increase their understanding of NHS models of mental health and services.
- To provide 1:1 support and advice for migrants. This involves working with their families/carers to look at ways of accessing:
- Community Mental Health Team support
- Housing support
- Primary Mental Health Care Services
- Benefits support
- Social and Religious groups
- Counselling services
- Other services
- To increase the cultural awareness and understanding of primary care and mental health professionals.
