This project will support you to improve self-confidence, employability skills and employment opportunities. You will be increasing the knowledge and understanding of mental health for employers, thereby reducing mental health stigma, discrimination and exclusion from employment.
This will be achieved by training service users to provide mental health awareness training to local employers as accredited trainers.
LEARN: Participants can enrol and will be trained to become an accredited Mental Health Awareness Trainer.
TRAIN: Participants may deliver training sessions to a range of organisations in Harrow about Mental Heath Awareness.
ADVANCE: Participants will receive Continuous Personal or Professional Development in the form of ongoing workshops, coaching and mentoring.
The course is not just about being a trainer, because I’ve learnt about communication and challenging myself to be more expressive. It’s taught me life skills which has given me a boost to get back into work.
I feel I have grown so much in this short time, I have gained confidence and I am optimistic about the future. I feel a new motivation.
The course has enlightened me as to my career path, I am more determined now to become a mental health trainer.
Mind has opened up major opportunities for me with the Head for Work Project and helped me feel like I belong.
The next LEARN 2 training course will start on Friday the 9th of September and runs for 12 weeks. On completion participants will receive a qualification accredited by Middlesex University and be able to deliver workshops on behalf of Mind in Harrow.
