Daytime activities

  • Befriending – volunteer befrienders offering one-on-one support to mental health service users, usually for around two hours per week
  • Harrow Communities Click – a timebank allowing you to swap skills with local people and take part in free activity groups
  • Mind Charity Shop – we have a shop in central Harrow where you can browse for bargains, donate items or volunteer your time
  • Stepping Stones Courses – short, low-cost courses for people who experience mental health problems
  • Stepping Stones Writing For Recovery Group – a personal budget-funded group that allows people experiencing mental health issues to explore wellbeing through writing

Culturally-specific services

  • Bridging Cultures – a project working with local Muslim and Hindu populations to improve access to mental health services, tackle mental health stigma and increase cultural understanding among local health professionals
  • EKTA South Asian Group – a peer-led support group for South Asian community members living in Harrow who are experiencing mental distress
  • Somali Hayaan Project (Moving to a Better Place) – a project that increases awareness of mental health issues and access to support within the Somali community through the recruitment and training of peer educators
  • Nedaye Zan (Voices of Women) – a project supporting Afghan women to access mental health support through fortnightly workshops that reduce isolation, increase confidence and provide practical support

  • Peer Support Employment Group Project – a project combining one-on-one employment advisor support with peer support to help people with mild to moderate mental health issues to get back into work
