Trustee Vacancies 

Mind in Harrow is particularly interested in hearing from potential Board members who:
-have personal experience of mental health problems and use or have used mental health care services
-are interested in taking on the role of Board Secretary 
-have a business or finance background, or  
-are interested in taking on the role of Treasurer.

Mind in Harrow Treasurer

Title:  Board Member: Trustee & Director

We are interested in hearing from potential Board members who have a business or finance background.  We are also looking for a trustee who would like to take on the role of Treasurer.

Hours:  attendance at 8 Board meetings each year plus involvement in Mind in Harrow activities and sub-committees according to interest and need.

Responsible to: Charity Commission and Companies House 

Job Summary: To support the delivery of Mind in Harrow services in accordance with its aims and purpose as set out in its governing documents through contributing to strategic leadership and policy.

Key duties:

  • To attend a minimum of 75% of Board meetings
  • To ensure that Mind in Harrow complies with charity law, company law, and other relevant legislation and regulations
  • To ensure that activities and expenditure are in pursuit of Mind in Harrow's charitable objectives
  • To ensure that Mind in Harrow promotes equality & diversity in all aspects of its work
  • To monitor and evaluate the performance of the organisation
  • To ensure the financial stability of the organisation
  • To represent the Board of Trustees as necessary both internally and externally
  • To accept the responsibilities of a charitable trustee and director of a charitable company.

Criteria:

  • empathy for and commitment to Mind's aims, objectives, and values
  • willingness and ability to devote the necessary time and efort
  • integrity and loyalty to the organisation
  • commitment to Equality of Opportunity
  • independent judgement; ability to communicate clearly and sensitively
  • ability to think strategically and creatively.
