Online Training: Understanding Young Persons’ Mental Health

HeadsUp are hosting a free training session for Harrow’s professionals to build your knowledge and confidence to support young people with their mental health needs.

Who is this training for?

Any professional in Harrow who works with young people (up to age 25) and does not have training in mental health can benefit from this training. That includes school staff, charities and social enterprises, youth group leaders and volunteers as well as many more!

Who runs it?

This training will be delivered by Mind in Harrow, part of HeadsUp Harrow.

HeadsUp is a consortium of 5 charities in Harrow providing specialised mental health support to young people in the borough who face additional barriers to accessing support. The consortium is managed by Mind in Harrow, who work with a team of young volunteers to deliver mental wellbeing educational workshops to young people in Harrow.

The CPD series

This is the first in a series of training that will be delivered by the HeadsUp consortium throughout 2022 and 2023.

Weds 15 June: Understanding young persons’ mental health (Mind in Harrow)

Weds 13 July: Supporting young persons with ADHD or Autism (CAAS)

Date TBC: Knowing more about Young People and Self Harm (The Wish Centre)

Date TBC: Supporting young refugees and asylum seekers (Paiwand)

Date TBC: Supporting LGBT+ young persons (Mosaic LGBT+ Young Persons Trust)

They will all be held 4-6pm.
