The Single Point of Access offers mental health triage for routine, urgent and emergency referrals, information and advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days per year. It is available to those living in Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster. People can refer themselves, or make enquiries on behalf of a family member or friend. The team will also take referrals from GPs, statutory services such as the police and London Ambulance service, and non-statutory services such as housing associations, as well as other professionals.

The team consists of qualified clinicians who are knowledgeable about different services and options. This helps callers to be directed to the most appropriate service to meet their needs. The team provides advice and guidance through a triage process, where the urgency of care required is assessed. The team also have the ability to book appointments for new referrals to see one of the community mental health teams.

The team helps avoid admission to a mental health inpatient ward by supporting people in acute mental crisis in their homes. The Harrow Home Treatment team has doctors, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and support workers who are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to support patients, carers and their families.

There are also two walk-in centres (8am-8pm daily) and one urgent care centre (24/7) in Harrow. These are for minor illnesses and injuries that require urgent treatment. No appointment is needed, just walk in.
