As part of SWiSH, HAD have launched a new series of Housing Matters Factsheets aimed at disabled people, their families, carers and those who support them. Harrow faces a housing crisis and disabled people continue to suffer more than most people.

The first  7  Housing Matters Fact sheets are now available for down loading from the HAD website. They cover:

         Homelessness Advice

         Homelessness: ‘Out of hours emergency’

         10 Rights of Private Tenants

         Applying as homeless: priority need.

Private Tenants: Smoke and Carbon monoxide alarms.

         The Right to Rent.

         Rent increases: Assured Shorthold tenancies.

HAD Chair Louise Weldon said, “HAD are concerned that there is too little information on homelessness and housing issues in the Borough. We aim to fill that vacuum and ensure disabled people have access to good advice and information.”

HAD Chief Executive Nigel Long added, “HAD will ensure the borough’s most vulnerable and disabled people have access to good housing advice. Our new Housing Matters Fact sheets can be downloaded from our website or hard copies are available from our reception in the Wealdstone Centre.”

Nigel Long concluded, “We will over the coming months put in place a wide range of housing information and advice to help disabled people deal with the housing crisis facing Harrow.”
