Organisations that can help you

Food and essential items

If it is safe for you to get out of the house to collect food and essential items;

  • London Community Kitchen provide a food market every Friday at 3pm at the Bridge.
    You can collect food at no cost that have been donated from supermarkets and restaurants.
    The address for this is: The Bridge Centre, Christchurch Ave, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 5BD (next door to Harrow Leisure Centre).
  • Harrow Central Mosque is providing a free Mobile Food and Support service to the elderly and vulnerable people in Harrow who require assistance with shopping medical collection or any other essential needs.
    This service is available to those who are 60 years and over, have physical or mental health support needs and/or are in Coronavirus isolation.

  • Curry Mahal
    Free hot indian curry meals are being provided to those aged over 70 living in Harrow. To be eligible for the free meal you may be asked to show your photo ID or letter from the government on receiving the meal. Call 020 8428 8166.

For deliveries;

  • Deliveroo and M+S Delivery Service
    Deliveroo is working with Marks & Spencer to deliver household essentials including milk, bread, and ready meals, to your door. A range of approximately 60 M&S products is available to order on Deliveroo and delivered within 30 minutes. Delivery from BP stores is free.
    Go onto the Deliveroo website: https://deliveroo.co.uk/ then type in your postcode and click grocery.
  • Harrow on the Hill Fruit Shop
    Harrow on the Hill Fruit shop are offering free home delivery for any order above £15 in the local area. Only cash is taken. Please call 07565 565 814 to make your order.

Registering as vulnerable

If you have a medical condition that means you are vulnerable to the coronavirus and you have not been contacted by the NHS, you are able to register yourself as a vulerable person in order to receive support and deliveries of food and essential items. Harrow Council’s website provides details of current support available, including reduced council tax and emergency funds scheme. They have a Coronavirus Hotline on 0208 901 2698.

All local Minds are being given free access to SilverCloud’s online CBT platform, for all of our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries. This offer features a selection from SilverCloud’s suite of programmes which can help people manage stress, sleep better, and build resilience; there is also a new module based around the current Covid-19 situation.

How do I take advantage of this offer?

How long is this available for?

SilverCloud have made this offer available for at least 4 months, and for the duration of the Covid-19 national response, so this will be reviewed and potentially extended if needed. They have also assured us that, once our portal closes for new registrations, all users will have 6 weeks to complete the available programmes.

How can I use SilverCloud?

You can offer this out to your staff and volunteers straight away as a support tool for their own mental health and wellbeing. You can do the same for existing clients/beneficiaries, and any new people approaching your organisation for support. You may wish to use SilverCloud as a waiting list management tool, to enable you to offer something to everyone even if you don’t have another service available straight away.

Silver Cloud can also be accessed via our Talking Therapies service. People can self-refer to the service and specifically request Silver Cloud. They will have between 3-6 review sessions with a therapist and then able to access the service for up to 12 months.


Please note that users can register with an alias rather than their name if they prefer to do so, and that SilverCloud do not use any user data (e.g. email addresses) for marketing purposes.
