On Your Side referral form

On Your Side offers specialist mental health advocacy and information to help people overcome problems with welfare benefits or mental health services.

You ask for help from the service directly yourself by calling or emailing us. On Your Side is offered by trained and supervised volunteers with their own lived experience of mental health services (called ‘peers’). These volunteers will be allocated to you based on your individual needs and preferences.

Our volunteers can support you in the following ways

  • Understand what your rights are.
  • Look at information about how different processes work e.g. welfare benefits, health or social services.
  • Accompany you and support you to attend medical and welfare benefit appointments.
  • Help you to tell people what you want.

What On Your Side can’t offer

  • Medical advice.
  • Legal representation.
  • Welfare Benefits advice, casework and form filling.
  • Home visits.
  • Housing issues.

To use the service, you must be

  • Resident of Harrow or Harrow GP.
  • 18 years or over.
