Celebrating Diwali and Generosity:

Mind in Harrow Shines at KPS UK’s 30th Anniversary Celebration!

Hey Mind in Harrow community,

Hope your weekend was as wonderful as ours! 🌟 We’ve got some fantastic news to share. On Sunday the 19th of November, We had the incredible privilege of attending the KPS (Kadwa Patidar) Diwali 30th anniversary event, and the warmth and generosity we experienced there have left us buzzing with excitement.

A Remarkable Gift

Let me break it down for you – KPS, a vibrant South Asian community in Harrow, extended their support to us in the most incredible way. Drumroll, please… They handed us a generous donation of Β£10,400! 😍

Where It’s Going

Now, here’s the heart-warming part – they asked that every penny of this donation go straight into our service delivery. Yep, you read that right. 100% towards making a positive impact on the mental well-being of our community. How amazing is that?

A Personal Touch

What makes this donation even more special is the personal connection. Β£5,000 of this heartfelt contribution came directly from the Secretary’s father. An 88-year-old carer, he’s been a pillar of strength for his son, who has navigated the challenges of care for the past 30 years. It’s stories like these that remind us of the power of compassion and community.

Looking Ahead

Our Communication and Marketing Coordinator captured the magic of the event, and soon you can catch glimpses of it on our social media platforms. This experience has ignited a fire in us to explore even more connections within our local communities. There’s so much potential to raise awareness for Mind in Harrow.

Gratitude Overflowing

The Mind in Harrow family want to express our deepest gratitude to the KPS community for their incredible support. Your kindness is a beacon of hope, and we’re beyond excited about the positive impact this will have on our services. I would like to conclude by quoting one of our board members, Nitasha Dhiri who attended the event:

“It was so wonderful to be a part of KPS’ Diwali celebrations and receive such warm hospitality from Nilesh and the entire KPS committee. We’re extremely grateful for all the support we’ve received from the local community and this very generous donation will go a long way in giving Mind in Harrow’s users access to the support and care that they need.”

Here’s to community, generosity, and the wonderful journey ahead! πŸ’šβœ¨
