European Social Fund (ESF) Gold Project

What was the ESF Gold Project?

This project aimed to improve the employability and skills of those who had been unemployed for six months or more. It did this in the following ways:

  • Finding suitable voluntary work placements or job training courses
  • Support to find and sustain paid work
  • Preparing candidates for work
  • Specialist support for those who were more vulnerable, experienced mental health problems or had physical disabilities
  • Additional support for those affected by homelessness or substance abuse

What did the project offer?

The project offered:

  • assessment and induction
  • CV advice
  • ongoing training
  • frequent 1-1/group support sessions
  • coaching and mentoring
  • further educaion
  • employability skills
  • a range of long term/work placements
  • support to go into paid employment
  • insurance cover
  • payment of all reasonable expenses
