Men’s Group Named Finalist in Harrow Hero’s Awards 2025

Celebrating community, resilience, and peer-led mental health support

We are proud to share that Mind in Harrow’s Men’s Group has been named a finalist in the prestigious Harrow Hero’s Awards 2025, recognising its outstanding contribution to mental health support in the local community.

Hero’s Awards 2025

The Men’s Group was launched in December 2024 following consultation with our clients, which highlighted a significant gap in services tailored to men’s mental health. In response, we created this peer-led initiative to provide a safe and supportive space where men can connect, share their experiences, and stand together against stigma.

Meeting weekly, the group has become a vital lifeline for its members. Through open discussions, group walks, social outings, and wellbeing-focused workshops, participants build trust, resilience, and lasting community connections.

What makes the Men’s Group unique is its peer-led model. The sessions are guided by men with lived experience of mental health challenges, creating an atmosphere of empathy, solidarity, and understanding. This approach gives members a sense of ownership and empowerment, helping them feel truly heard and supported.

Being named a finalist in the Harrow Hero’s Awards is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and bravery of the group’s members. Their commitment to supporting one another while breaking down stigma around men’s mental health is inspiring and worth celebrating.

We congratulate every member of the Men’s Group on this well-deserved recognition and thank them for making Harrow a more inclusive and supportive place for all.
