Last year alone, our volunteers contributed more than 800 hours to our work, listening, supporting, encouraging and helping people feel less alone and offering peer support. But more importantly helping people build confidence, reduce isolation and take positive steps towards recovery.
Our volunteers support us in many ways. They help to run our helpline, facilitate our men’s group and wellbeing activities, including our walking group, and our projects DIYA and Hayaan.
Volunteering is not only valuable for the people we support. It can also be a powerful and rewarding experience for the volunteers themselves. Many of our volunteers tell us they feel a strong sense of purpose, connection and personal growth.
As a small local charity, we simply could not do our work without our volunteers. Their commitment strengthens our services and helps us reach more people who need support.
During Volunteers Week, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every person who has or still do volunteer with us. Your time, care and dedication make a real difference in our community, and we see it every day.
If you are thinking about volunteering, this is a great time to get involved. Whether you can offer a few hours a week or occasional support, your contribution can help change someone’s life.
Thank you to our volunteers for everything you do.
