Join DIYA for a special Diwali 2026 fundraising event bringing the local community together in South Harrow to celebrate, connect and raise funds for three charities, including Mind in Harrow.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 and is expected to welcome around 200–250 people for an afternoon of community fundraising, followed by a vegetarian meal. The event aims to raise approximately £5,000–£6,000, with funds being shared between the three charities supported through the event.
Mind in Harrow is pleased to be one of the charities benefiting from this community fundraising event. We will be attending with an information desk where guests can find out more about our work, mental health services and the support we provide to people across Harrow and Brent.
As well as raising funds for important causes, community fundraising events can help bring people together and create opportunities to learn more about local organisations. The DIYA Diwali event will provide an opportunity for guests to celebrate together while supporting charities that work within the community.
A speaker from Mind in Harrow will also address the audience during the event, sharing information about our services and the different types of mental health support available. This will provide an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health, encourage conversations and help people understand where they can turn if they or someone they know needs support.
Diwali is a time when many communities come together to celebrate with family, friends and the wider community. Events such as this can create valuable opportunities for connection while also supporting causes that make a difference locally.
