Be the change: shape the information and support you get around drug use and your wellbeing

Mind in Harrow and Compass Elevation are partnering to bring young people together to tackle the stigma and misinformation around drugs, alcohol and mental health.

In 2024, we’ll be recruiting 13-18-year-olds to join our Drugs & Wellbeing Awareness Council and shape future services. Read on to find out more, plus about outreach in schools & youth groups…

Please note, we have changed the dates of the Council and the sessions will now be held in the summer holidays on weekdays between Monday 5th and Friday 16th August. 

 

What can you expect?

Who are we looking for?

  • Aged 13-18
  • Living or at school in Harrow
  • Lived experience of drug or alcohol misuse, or emotional wellbeing challenges
  • Interest in policy and research
  • Passion for innovation and a desire to make a change
  • Can attend 8 Council meetings between the 5th and 16th of August 2024 at the TwentyOne Building in Harrow

Please note – parental consent is required for 13-year-olds.

Host an introductory session for your school or youth group

Until July 2024, we’ll be running introductory workshops and talks to raise awareness of the relationship between substance misuse and mental health, and to recruit young people onto the council. If you’d like one for your group, please email headsup@mindinharrow.org.uk or compass.harrowyps@nhs.net
